The Oranjemund Town Council's mandate is to develop the town and to uplift the living
standards of its citizens by creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive
in the town. This mandate is aligned with the Local Authority Act, Act 23 of 1992.
Since the Oranjemund Town Council has been established as a Local Authority in 2012,
the Oranjemund Town Council has made significant strides in delivering essential municipal services to the community.

On May 6, 2024, the Oranjemund Town Council proudly launched its Five-Year Strategic Plan (2024-2029), outlining a clear roadmap for sustainable growth, service excellence, and community development. This plan is anchored on four strategic pillars:
