Welcome To Oranjemund Town Council

The Oranjemund Town Council's mandate is to develop the town and to uplift the living standards of its citizens by creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the town. This mandate is aligned with the Local Authority Act, Act 23 of 1992.

Since the Oranjemund Town Council has been established as a Local Authority in 2012, the Oranjemund Town Council has made significant strides in delivering essential municipal services to the community.

On May 6, 2024, the Oranjemund Town Council proudly launched its Five-Year Strategic Plan (2024-2029), outlining a clear roadmap for sustainable growth, service excellence, and community development. This plan is anchored on four strategic pillars:

Town Transformation Partners
Through the Town Transformation agenda, the Oranjemund Town Council, in partnership with Namdeb Diamond Corporation (Pty) Ltd. (Former Town Owner), OMD 2030, and OMDis, is committed to transforming Oranjemund into a diverse socio-economic and sustainable town.

The Town Transformation Committee, a joint effort between Oranjemund Town Council and Namdeb led to the creation of OMD 2030 and OMDis, both playing vital roles in shaping a sustainable Oranjemund.
OMD 2030 is a community-driven NGO, that fosters citizen participation in town transformation through:

OMDis Town Transformation Agency is a Section 21 Company, that accelerates economic diversification by:
