  • Electricity Connections & Metering - Installation of new connections, meter readings, and billing inquiries.
  • Maintenance & Repairs - Regular maintenance of electrical infrastructure, including streetlights and substations.

Electricity Metering Services

The Oranjemund Town Council provides both conventional electricity meters and prepaid electricity meters to meet the needs of residents and businesses.



  1. Conventional Electricity Meters
    • Billed monthly based on meter readings.
    • Invoices are issued for payment before the due date.
    • Suitable for households, businesses, and institutions requiring postpaid electricity services.

  2. Prepaid Electricity Meters
    • Allows users to purchase electricity in advance.
    • Helps monitor and manage electricity usage efficiently.
    • Ideal for residential and commercial properties preferring pay as you go services.

How to Purchase Electricity Tokens

Residents and businesses using prepaid meters can purchase electricity tokens through the following methods:

  1. Online Payments - Via banking apps.
  2. Local Vendors & Outlets - Purchase from authorized retailers and service stations.
  3. Town Council Offices - Buy directly from our municipal offices during working hours.
