Waste Management Services

The Oranjemund Town Council is committed to fostering economic growth and improving community well-being through various programs and services. Our Local Economic Development (LED) and Community Services Department supports businesses, promotes sustainable development, and ensures a safe and healthy environment for residents.

Refuse Collection Schedule

  • Household and business waste is collected according to a set schedule to ensure cleanliness in all areas.
  • Residents and businesses are advised to place their bins outside by 5:00 AM on the designated collection day.

Disposal of Garden Refuse and Building Rubble

  • Garden refuse, such as leaves and branches, should be bagged or bundled for easy collection.
  • Building rubble and construction waste must be disposed of at the landfill sites.
  • Unauthorized dumping is prohibited and subject to penalties.

Rental Application for Skips and 240L Wheelie Bins

  • Businesses and residents can rent 240L wheelie bins for regular waste collection.
  • Large skip bins are available for rent for bulk waste, events, or construction projects.
  • Applications can be submitted at the Town Council offices, and rental fees apply based on bin size and duration.

Access Permits to Landfill Site

To ensure public safety, the Town Council regulates access permits.


  1. Individuals and companies requiring access to the landfill site must obtain a permit.
  2. Permits can be issued for once-off or long-term use.
  3. The landfill operates under strict environmental guidelines to ensure proper waste disposal.

Tariffs and Fees

  1. Waste management services are subject to municipal tariffs, which vary based on waste type, bin size, and collection frequency.

  2. A detailed breakdown of tariffs is available at the Town Council offices.
