Oranjemund Town Council Mourns Former Councillor Ronald Slabbert
Oranjemund, 07 August 2025 – The Oranjemund Town Council is deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Ronald Slabbert (22 February 1959 – 4 August 2025), a respected community member and one of the pioneering Councillors of the Council.
Mr. Slabbert served from 2012 to 2015 as a Local Authority Councillor, playing a key role during the formative years of the Council. His dedication and service helped lay the foundation for local administration and community development in Oranjemund.
On behalf of the Mayor, Councillors, management, and staff, the Council extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the wider Oranjemund community.
“May the Almighty give his family courage, strength, and consolation during this difficult time. We honour Mr. Slabbert’s legacy and contributions, which will continue to inspire our community,” said the Council.
